The Keystone Rally Association has completed its 31st year of soapbox derby racing.
Keystone is the oldest, longest continuous racing soapbox derby organization in the
country. The season started in the middle of August and concluded near the middle of
the month of October Cities that held races in Pa were:
Port Carbon, Bethlehem,Emmaus,Conshocken,Pottsville,Pottstown,
Harrisburg, Souderton and Fredericksburg Md. Each city ran 2 races over the weekend;
they were all double elimination except Pottsville which had of necessity changed its 2nd
race to a single elimination.
A total of 18 All-American races were run, with the average entries in the Stock being 22
Super 21 and Masters 9 for an overall average of 52 racers per rally.

Those who raced in ½ (9) of the rallies will receive a special plaque and hoodie at the
Keystone Picnic.
Allyson Pike became Keystone Champion by winning 9 rallies followed by Tyler Fleck
who won 4 rallies and came in 2nd in 3 others in the stock division
The Super Stock title was not decided until the last phase of the last heat of the season
when Holly Harrar defeated Caitlin Smith, which gave Nichole Kreiger the point
championship and Caitlin Smith ended up in 2nd place overall.
In the Masters, Keystone Champion Brooke Finkbeiner won 7 rallies and came in 2nd in
6 others while K.C.Rader won 8 rallies but came in 2nd in 4 others.
Last year K.C.Rader was Keystone Champion with Brooke Finkbeiner coming in 2nd
Devon Neifert has come in 3rd in both 2006 and 2007.
We were fortunate and it was quite enjoyable to watch as we may have had the 3 fastest
Master cars in the country racing every week with the outcome always uncertain.
There are now at least 6 drivers from the Stock and 6 Super Stock and 4 in the Masters
who are in excellent positions to qualify for the All-American Rally Championships in
Akron next year as compared to last year when the Keystone only sent out 3 for the rally
championships
. Bucks County was represented with racers in all three divisions

During the course of the year we had Sara Dornblaser with a 1st and 6th place finish.
Curtis Panzitta had a 2nd place. Esker McConnell had a 2nd, 3rd a 5th& 6th and two
9th places. Katie Preston had a 2nd,two 3rds one 4th, two 7ths and one 8th place. Olivia
Crouse had a 5th place and Carly Stead had two 4th place finishes
In the final point standings Katie Preston finished in 8th place with 64 points and Esker
McConnell finished in 9th place with 62 points.
In the Super Stock Division

Katherine Craig had a 8th and two 9th place finishes.
Chris Panzitta has a 3rd and a 4th place finish this put him in 12th place in the final point
standings.
Sean Stead had a 5th, two-8th and one 9th place finishes this put him in 11th place in
final point standings.
Bucks County had 2 in the stock division, (Katie Preston
and Esker McConnell) and 1 in the super stock division (Ricky Stead) that raced in ½ (9)
races and will receive their special plaques and hoodies at the Keystone Picnic to be
held November 12th 2007.
Many happy times with family members and friends plus valuable driving and derby
experiences are some of the rewards from racing in the Keystone this year.
