Derby Families,
On August 4th, at our regular monthly membership meeting, we will be taking nominations for next year's officers. With recent changes to the bylaws, we changed the term of the executive
board so that elections will now be held at our September meeting. Changing the date allows the new board more time to get organized and, hopefully, enable the organization to improve
planning and execution of the next year's race.
For new families, we have restrictions on voting, which require that a member family attend two meetings during the year and have participated in the current year's race. If your family raced
this year and you attend the August and September (voting meeting) meetings, you can vote in this year's election. We have no such restriction on running for offices. If your family did not have
a racer, you volunteered during this race, you attended two general meetings during the year and you wanted to vote, contact the the derby director (215-275-4925).
All offices have a one year term. The offices are as follows:
Derby Director (Currently Mark Craig) - Presides over the organization, managing regular communication with Akron regarding the derby, and meeting with sponsors.
Assistant Directors (Currently Kim McCauley and Roger Matzke) - This past year, we have had one Asst Director (Kim) in charge of Organizational activities and one the Physical activities.
The actual roles are defined by the derby director.
Stock Director (Currently Ed Preston) - Responsible for Stock Division
Super Stock Director (Currently Tom Hyndman) - Responsible for Super Stock Division
Masters Director (Currently Allan Stead) - Responsible for Masters Division
Treasurer (Currently Mary Plunkett) - Responsible for finances, paying bills, collecting money.
Secretary (Currently Nancy Hallman) - Responsible for minutes, activities related to registration, and managing communication with members and sponsors.
Property (Currently Herb Carver) - Responsible for corporate cars and derby-owned assets.
